The Western Province Netball Association (WPNA) won Silver at the 1st Asia-Pacific Masters Games held in Penang, Malaysia.
WPNA faltered in their winning run shown earlier, and went down to Dugites of Australia.
The Australians showing great skill in both Serving and Attacking, made the Lankans pay for failing to read their pattern of play, to settle for Silver.
The team was captained by Caryll Tozer-Perera while Kasturi Wilson, Krishani George, Sanjeevani Balasuriya, Shervonne Perera, Somitha de Alwis, Rozana Friskin, Champa Perera, Mahesha Wijesooriya, Yamuna Amarasena and Hasanthi Amarasuriya represented the WPNA team.
Rio Ramlan acted as Manager and Coach.
Results
Beat Sri Lanka Panthers 36-15, Queens of Malaysia 43-8, Puspanita of Malaysia 55-9, South African Warriors 26-13 and lost to Dugites of Australia 23-41.
