The International Cricket Council (ICC) will not impose any sanctions on the Sri Lankan team for not attending the post-match conference on Saturday, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) said today (Jun 17).
According to SLC, the incident had been discussed with the ICC and an assurance was given that such incidents will not occur in future.
Further, SLC has advised the team management to comply with the obligations set out for a participating team during the ICC Cricket World Cup, the local cricket body noted in a press release.
The Sri Lankan cricket team had failed to send a representative for the post-match press conference after the match against Australia last Saturday.
