Rukshan Fuard from Exotic Holidays emerged champions of Travel Trade Pool, as he beat Ackiel M. Jameel in the Cup Championship final at the 2nd Travel Trade Sports Club (TTSC) Pool Championships 2015, sponsored by Yenesha Travels Seeduwa and held at the ‘Shotz’ Pool Lounge at Excel World in Colombo. Overall 34 players from 17 TTSC Member firms participated. After the initial rounds, the eight quarter-finalists advanced to the Cup, Plate, Bowl and Shield championships. Vivek Kerkovan, last year’s Cup runner-up had to be satisfied with the Plate, when he beat Lakshan Samarasinghe from Cinnamon City Hotels in the final. In an all Exotic Holidays battle for the Bowl, Rukshan Tharik Sawall beat his team mate Tuan Rizwan Mannan in the final. Hasitha Hettiarachchi from Exotic Holidays won the Shield beating Vimukthi Pathirana from Connaissance de Ceylan in the final. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has interdicted Colombo Fort Magistrate Kosala Senadheera.
The Supreme Court today refused interim relief in an application filed by President’s Counsel Senaka Walgampaya seeking an Order from the Supreme Court compelling the President to appoint judges to fill the existing vacancies in the Court Of Appeal.
The deadline for online applications to the 2024 G.C.E. Advanced Level (A/L) Examination has been extended until July 12, the Department of Examinations said.
