In the wake of the recent drunk driving accident involving national test captain Dimuth Karunaratne, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has decided to conduct random breathlyser tests on cricketers in future.
These tests would come into effect starting from the 50-over Super Provincial Tournament which commences today (Apr 04).
Accordingly, hefty measures would be taken against any cricketer who is found to be under the influence of alcohol during matches, the SLC said.
The SLC has taken measures to make cricketers aware of the breathlyser test and the repurcussions they will have to face for violating the law.
