University of Moratuwa led by Dilanka Gamage won the 34th Inter University Regatta 2017, held at the Colombo Rowing Club premises with a 36 points to 6 over the University of Colombo.
University of Moratuwa won all the events at the regatta except the 'A' Scull event and the Double Scull event.
Moratuwa University emerged winners in the A-Four (Boat Race), B-Four, C and graduates Fours (Exhibition) and both Pairs and the B-scull events.
The prestige event of the of the regatta the A-four was won by the Moratuwa for the tenth time in succession from 2008 onwards with a tally of nine regattas out of ten.
In the Women's events University of Colombo had a clean sweep winning all the events to regain the title which they lost for the last two years.
Victorius Moratuwa University was represented by Amidu Silva, Damian Perera, Sajithan, Ranjan Balasooriya, Malith Gallage, Anjana Wijayalath, Irusha Muthukuda, Supun Nissanka, Malith Premaratne, Malithi Widanapathirana, Uditha Gamage, Ayeshmantha Munasinghe, Dinith Arunasiri and Dilanka Gamage and is being coached by Shane Silva, Chamal Jayaneththi and Thiran Sellahewa.
