With an overwhelming margin of 26 points Musaeus College ended the winning spree of Ladies' College and bag the Marie Musaeus Higgins Trophy after a lapse of five years in their 13th annual Rowing Regatta on the water of Beira Lake on Saturday (1).
Ladies', coming in with high hopes to claim their sixth consecutive Regatta win turned back with an unimpressive tally of 13 points while Musaeus, after being thrashed during the previous five occasions, collected 39 points to emerge overall winners.
The Musaeus oarswomen also set up a new record with a timing of 3.52 minutes in the 'A' Fours, which had the highest offering of 12 points from the total of 52 points overall.
Before claiming the final race, Musaeus wont the 'B' Fours for eight points, the pointless 'C' Fours and the Old Girls' Fours', the 'A' Pair for eight points, 'B' Pair for four points, 'B' Scull for two points, and the 'B' Double Scull, which offered nothing.
Ladies' oarswomen won first race of the day, the 'A' Scull for six points and the 'A' Double Scull for seven points.
However Ladies' still lead the tally with nine wins as Musaeus took their tally to three while one regatta ended in a tie.
