Access International beat hot favourites Dialog 'A' by 35-12 to win the Cup title 46th Mercantile Rugby 7s Championship played at the CR and FC ground in Longdon Place on Sunday (17).
Access International won the title after 16 years and scored from five converted tries.
Dialog ‘A’ played gallantly to trail by 12-14 at halftime but lost their grip in the half as they made up their points off two tries and a conversion.
The victorious Access International team led by Srinath Sooriyabandara comprised Vishwamithra Jayasinghe, Jason Dissanayake, Kavindu Perera, Chanaka Chandimal, Danushka Ranjan, Saliya Handapangoda, Buwaneka Udangamuwa, Kevin Dixon, Chula Susantha, Danusha Dayan and Richard Dharmapala.
Nation Lanka Finance edged out John Keels ‘A’ by 26-22 to win the Plate title of the competition while John Keells ‘B’ recorded a smashing 22-5 win against Dialog ‘B’ to win the Bowl title.
Brandix beat Pan Asia Bank by 24-7 to annex the Shield title.
