Royal College staged a clinical performance to beat Trinity College 22-17 to win the first leg of the 72nd Bradby Shield Rugby encounter, which was also an official match of the Singer Schools Under-20 League Tournament at the Royal Sports Complex in Colombo today (30).
After leading 17-7 at halftime Royal succumbed to pressure before Trinity bounced back to level the game at 17-all.
But a try in the dying stages of the game sealed Royal a crucial win.
Royal scored from three tries, two conversions and a penalty while Trinity scored from two converted tries and a penalty.
