Colombo Synergy Rugby Academy (CSRA) Veterans team will fly to Bali’ Indonesia for ‘Karma Bali Rugby Fest International 10s’ tournament to be held on October 13 and 14 at the Bali Rugby Club International grounds.
This is the second international tournament that CSRA is participating this year.
They toured Malaysia in February this year to take part in the ‘Keris Conlay X tournament’ held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
They emerged Cup Runner-up under skipper Shakeer Sally.
CSRA comprises a few former National players and 'A' Division players coached by CSRA founder Nazeem Ghaffoor.
CSRA Team: Nazeem Ghaffoor (Coach cum Player), Shaheed Thassim (Captain), Hilmy Abdeen, Rizan Saldin, Rizwan Mannan, Ifham Sheriff, Lakmal Fernando, Shakeer Sally, Malik Mannan, Dinesh Balendran, Sajehan Buckman, Faroon Hameed, Afzal Ibrahim, Shafraz Iqbal, Irfan Lye, Kasun Malwattege, Azeez Firdous.
“CSRA offers opportunities to all age group Rugby loving personalities to enjoy the game. We have from nursery level children to retired veterans in our academy. All enjoy Rugby and we created a platform for everyone. That is our objective,” said Ghaffoor.
While the Veterans' team participates in overseas tournaments, other age category players participated in a number of local tournaments during the year.
The Under-18 team emerged Cup Runner-up at the last tournament, and the U-16 team emerged Plate champions.
“Our academy keeps growing and we witness improved performances by the day. The enthusiasm of the players/members and officials of the CSRA family is the secret of our success," Nazeem said.
