Sri Lanka Sevens skipper Fazil Marija will miss the first leg of the Asian Rugby Sevens Series, which will be held in China this weekend. Marija has been sidelined for the first of the three-legged Asian Sevens Rugby Series to be held on September 5 and 6 due to an injury and the Tuskers will be lead by Sudarshana Muthuthanthri. Besides skipper Muthuthanthri, the Sri Lankan team will include Danushka Ranjan, Sandun Herath, Dulaj Perera, Hirantha Perera, Gayan Weeraratne, Shehan Pathirana, Srinath Sooriyabandara, Lavanga Perera, Anuruddha Wilwara, Richard Dharmapala and Kanchana Ramanayake. Sri Lanka will play alongside Kazakhstan and Singapore in Pool ‘B’. The Pool ‘A’ includes Philippines, UAE and Hong Kong while China, Japan and Chinese Taipei are drawn in Pool ‘C’ with Thailand, Malaysia and South Korea competing under Pool ‘D’.
