CR and FC were leading Air Force Sports Club faintly 11-9 ten minutes before the final whistle, but rough play by the host eventually gave the Red Shirts a comfortable 21-9 win in their first round match of the Dialog Rugby League Championship played at Ratmalana on Sunday (5).
It was the Airmen who took the advantage right throughout the game as they led the halftime by 6-3, but the hosts could not maintain their momentum.
CR and FC were awarded a penalty try in addition to a penalty eight minutes before the close of the game as they took away a possible win from the Airmen.
CR scored off two tries, a conversion and three penalties against Air Force's three penalties.
