Hosts Malaysia recorded a shocking 42-17 win against defending Asian Division I Rugby Championship title holders Sri Lanka in the second round games played at the Royal Selangur Stadium in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (11).
Malaysia fielded as much as six Fijians in their starting lineup and led the halftime by 20-10.
Malaysia scored from five tries, four conversions and three penalties while Sri Lanka made up their points from two converted tries and a penalty.
Sri Lanka will take on Philippines on Sunday (15).
