Rugby: Quarter-finalists of Singer Schools U-20 Division II 7s found

The teams to qualify to the quarter finals of the Cup, Bowl and Shield segment of the Singer Under-20 Schools Rugby 7s tournament was found after the completion of the round robin matches which was played at Koggala on Saturday (6).

The teams to qualify to the Cup quarters were Sri Sumangala Panadura, Sarasavi Uyana MV Peradeniya, Talduwa Buddhist MV, St. Anthony’s Wattala, St. Aloysius Galle, Kottawa Ananda, Devapathiraja MMV Rathgama and Vidyaloka MV Galle.

The teams to qualify to the Bowl quarters were President’s Maharagama, Vidura College Colombo, Revatha MMV Balapitiya, Mahinda Galle, Asoka MV Colombo, St John’s Kotelawela MV Kurunegala, Siri Piyarathana MMV Padukka and Kegalu MV.

The teams to qualify to the Shield quarters were St Peter’s Negombo, Mahanama Panadura, St Sebastian’s Kandana, Manawila Upananda MV Galle, Wayamba Royal, Rahula Matara, Sri Sumangala Kandy and Rajasinghe MV Hanwella.

The tournament conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Association and sponsored by Singer Sri Lanka saw the participation of 28 teams. 

The quarter-finals are scheduled to be played from 8.00am onwards, the semi-finals from 1.30pm and the finals are slotted to be played from 3.00pm onwards.

The quarter-final round up:

Cup: Sri Sumangala Panadura vs St Aloysius Galle, Sarasavi Uyana NV Peradeniya vs Kottawa Ananda, Talduwa Buddhist MV vs Devapathiraja MMV Rathgama and St. Anthony’s Wattala vs Vidyaloka MV Galle.

Bowl: President’s Maharagama vs Asoka MV Colombo, Vidura College Colombo vs St. John’s Kotelawela MV Kurunegala, Revatha MMV Balapitiya vs Siri Piyarathana MMV Padukka and Mahinda Galle vs Kegalu MV.

Shield: St. Peter’s Negombo vs Wayamba Royal, Mahanama Panadura vs Rahula Matara, St. Sebastian’s Kandana vs Sri Sumangala Kandy and Manawila Upananda MV Galle vs Rajasinghe MV Hanwella.
