The Sri Lanka 7s team, under the leadership of Sudarshana Muthuthanthri, will leave to Hong Kong today (29) for the first leg of the Asian 7s Rugby Series, which will be held this weekend.
Muthuthanthri, who led Sri Lanka 7s in 2015, takes over the leadership from Danushka Ranjan, who was ruled out of the squad due to an injury.
In addition to the absence of Ranjan, three other key players will miss out this weekend's first leg of the Asian 7s Series due to injuries.
Sri Lanka is slotted in Group ‘B’ with Japan, South Korea and China.
