Sri Lanka Scrabble League (SLSL) will felicitate the ten-member Sri Lanka team that performed with merit at the 10th World Youth Scrabble Championship held in Perth, Australia recently.
The felicitation ceremony will be at the Organisation of Professional Associations (OPA) of Sri Lanka at Prof. Stanley Wijesundera Mawatha in Colombo 7 on Sunday (28) from 7.00pm.
Sri Lanka became the best team for the first time beating top contenders New Zealand and Pakistan.
In addition Janul de Silva emerged the best player in the Under-14 age category.
Migara Jayasinghe scored the highest score if 693 while Vignesh Piripaharan emerged runner-up best player in the Under-14 age category.
Janul de Silva finished at overall fourth while Thirandi de Silva and Lambhotharan Yogananthan finished at overall sixth and eighth respectively.
Sri Lanka was represented by Migara Jayasinghe, Aadil Ismail, Janul de Silva, Vignesh Pirapaharan, Thavalakshman Yoganathan, Thirandi de Silva, Jahidhu Karunaratne, Hasindu Arumapperuma, Radinka Dissanayake and Lambhotharan Yogananthan.
