Snooker: 65th National Championship cues off with District Tournaments
The 65th National Snooker Championship 2017 will set off from today (23) with the District Tournaments.
Accordingly the Colombo District competition will begin at the Moors Sports Club.
This year over 125 newcomers will be among the total contestants as the District Tournaments are set to complete by December 2.
The tournament will then proceed with the All-Island competitions in which the top 16 players from district competitions are set to compete alongside the Top 16 of the national list for the national championship.
Mohamed Fazil, 19, is the current title holder of the National Snooker Championship and he beat top contender and former national champ Mohamed Mubeen in the 2016 finals.
