Super T20: Commandos defeat Troopers to reach final

Colombo Commandos beat Hambantota Troopers by 6 wickets to reach the final of the SLC Super Twenty20 Championship, after the first semi-final played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo today (30).

Put into bat, the Troopers posted 164 and Commandos reached the winning target losing four wickets and with 24 deliveries to spare. 

Opener Niroshan Dickwella smashed 72 off 38 deliveries, hitting ten fours and two sixes, to lay the foundation of the Commandos’ win.

 Dhananjaya de Silva (22), Shehan Jayasuriya (21) and Ramith Rambukwella (22n.o.) chipped in with valuable knocks to help the winners reach the target with ease. 

Binura Fernando, Sachith Pathirana and Seekkuge Prasanna claimed a wicket each. 

Troopers had a fine start, with openers Seekkuge Prasanna and TM Dilshan putting on 90 after being put into bat. 

Parasanna top scored with a 30-ball 52 with five boundaries and three sixes while Dilshan hit 44 off 42 deliveries with three fours and a six. 

Others failed to impress with the bat as Kasun Rajitha and Shaminda Eranga claimed three wickets each. 

Dasun Shanaka and Ramith Rambukwella took a wicket each earlier on. 

Commandos will take on the winner of the second semi-final match between Kurunegala Warriors and Galle Guardians in the SLC Super Twenty20 Championship final on Friday (5).
