Sri Lanka’s newest swimming sensation Mathew Abeysinghe broke the long-standing record of Julian Bolling for medals, winning seven golds at the ongoing South Asian Games at the Guwahati Swimming Complex in India on Wednesday (10).
Abeysinghe had won five gold medals by Tuesday and yesterday he added two more to his tally after winning the 100m free style and 200m medley events.
Bolling had won six gold medals at the 1991 South Asian Games held in Sri Lanka.
