Sri Lanka Aquatics Sports Union organised National and Sub Junior Under 15 National Aquatics Championships 2017 will be held from May 3 to 6 at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Complex.
This event will be treated as a selection trial for the 17th Federal Internationale De Natation (FINA) Championships 2017 to be held in Budapest, Hungary.
Entries were closed on May 28 at the Sri Lanka Aquatics Union Office, Colombo 7.
Awarding of points at this event will be as follows:
Individual Events: 1st place 10 points, 2nd place 8 points, 3rd place 7 points, 4th place 6 points, 5th place 5 points, 6th place 4 points, 7th place 3 points, 8th place 2 points
Relay Events: 1st place 20 points, 2nd place 15 points, 3rd place 12 points, 4th place 10 points, 5th place 8 points, 6th place 6 points, 7th place 4 points, 8th place 2 points
Individual Trophies for swimming: 1st place 5 points, 2nd place 3 points, 3rd place 2 points, 4th place 1 point, National Record 2 points
A maximum quota of two male and two female swimmers will represent Sri Lanka at the FINA Championships 2017.
FINA World Championships programme will include the following events:
Free Style - Men/Women: 50mts, 100mts, 200mts, 400mts, 800mts, 1500mts
Back Stroke/Breast Stroke/Butterfly Stroke: 50mts, 100mts, 200mts, IM, 200mts, 400mts
