Sri Lanka’s Sharmal Dissanayake recorded a convincing straight set win 6/1, 6/1 against France's Francois Arthur Vibert in the Men's Singles first round match of the ITF Men's F1 Futures Tournament played at Greenpath on Tuesday (20).
Dissanayake overcame the eighth seed Frenchman to set a game against Russia's Mikhail Korovin on Wednesday (21).
However, Sri Lanka's top seed Nishangan Nadaraja failed to impress as he suffered a 2/6, 2/6 defeat against Indian Prajwal Dev in his first round game of the tournament.
The seven-day tournament which began on Monday (19) will end on Sunday (25) at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association clay courts at Greenpath in Colombo.
