Powered by two tries from Sanjula Roshan, Science College Mt. Lavinia beat Trinity College by 17-5 in the final of the Cup segment to win the Schools Under-18 Division I Rugby Sevens Championship at the Royal College Sports Complex on Sunday (14).
Science scored from three tries and a conversion while leading the halftime by 12-0.
Trinity scored from a solitary unconverted try.
For the winners Sanjula Roshan scored the first followed by one from Ashan Madumadhawa to take a 12-0 lead.
Roshan scored his second try after the change of ends.
For Trinity Warren Weerakoon scored the solitary try in the second half.
In the semi-finals, Science beat Wesley by a staggering margin of 41-0 while Trinity outplayed hometown rivals Kingswood by 24-0.
Isipathana College beat Royal College 12-7 to win the Plate championship as Dharmaraja College Kandy went on to win the Bowl title after beating C.W.W. Kannangara MV by 24-0.
Zahira College Colombo won the Shield championship after beating Maliyadeva College Kurunegala by 28-14.
