Top teams – Royal, Trinity, St. Peter’s, Wesley, Kingswood, Thurstan, Isipathana and Science -- qualified for the Cup Quarter-finals of the Singer Schools Under-18 Rugby Sevens Tournament played at the Royal College Sports Complex in Colombo on Saturday (13).
The Cup quarter-finals will begin on Sunday (14) morning from 8.30am.
Bradby rivals – Royal and Trinity will face off in one game.
The Science-Isipathana game will be another thriller.
Isipathana will be striving to avenge the rout in last year’s President’s Trophy knockout tournament.
St. Peter’s vs Wesley and Kingswood vs Thurstan will be the other quarter-final clashes.
One player caught the eye and that was Science Colleges’ Sanjula Roshan, a diminutive winger who was a treat to watch.
Science’s chances against the formidable Isipathana lads will depend a lot on what Sanjula does.
Kingswood impressed with some hard, straight running.
Sunday’s match lineup
