Sport

Devapathiraja Maha Vidyalaya, Rathgama won the Sri Lanka Schools Girls Under-19 Cricket Championship beating Anula Vidyalaya by 7 wickets in the final played at the Thurstan College ground on Tuesday (9).

Amasha Dilshani stood tall to top score a well compiled 38 as Anula Vidyalaya were bowled out for a total of 99 in 30 overs.

A superb opening stand of 44 runs by Parami Mahinsala (53 n.o.) and Nilakshana Sandamini (16) laid the foundation for Devapathiraja MV to reach the target, who lost three wickets on the way.

The individual award winners were: Best Batter – Amasha Dilhani (Anula Vidyalaya); Best Bowler – Telishiya Chathurangi; Player of the Final – Parami Mahinsala (Devapathiraja College).
