Sri Lanka will commence their Under-19 World Cup campaign against defending champions India on January 19, 2020.
They have been grouped alongside New Zealand, India and Japan in Group 'A' Nipun Dananjaya will lead Sri Lanka in the tournament.
The Under-19 National team is currently in Bangladesh and after that they will tour West Indies before finalizing the squad for the showpiece event in South Africa.
The hosts South Africa will open their campaign against Afghanistan in tournament's curtain raiser.
The tournament will commence on January 17 and the finals will be on February 9, 2020.
This will be the 13th edition of the tournament.
The top two teams from each of the four groups advance to the Super League while the remaining teams feature in the Plate championship.
The JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom will host two Super League matches and it will host some important matches which includes the two semi-finals and the final.
Japan and Nigeria will be participating in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup for the first time.
There are 16 teams in the tournament.
The teams have been divided in to four groups.
Group 'A': India, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Japan
Group 'B': Australia, West Indies, England, Nigeria.
Group 'C': Pakistan, Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Scotland
Group 'D': South Africa, Afghanistan, UAE, Canada
