A bold decision by former Isipathana College captain Manilka Ruberu, to take a 30-metre penalty despite fans urging a lineout, after the end of the 70 minutes, helped them record a thrilling 12-12 draw against S. Thomas' College in a second round match of the Singer Schools Rugby League Championship played at Mt. Lavinia.
At halftime the Thomians led 7-3.
S. Thomas’ scored from two tries and a conversion, while Isipathana went tryless and settled for four penalties.
