Defending champions of Singer Inter-Schools Under-19 Rugby League Championship, Royal College, had to face the first defeat after 19 straight wins, when St. Peter's College beat them by 12-8 in the final Round 1 match played at Bambalapitiya on Saturday (30).
At halftime St. Peter's led 7-3 and scored from two tries and a conversion.
Royal were made to fight hard for their points, which came from an unconverted try and a penalty.
St. Peter's beat Royal after five years.
