Isipathana College will take on Thurstan College for the 46th occasion when both teams clash for the Abdul Jabbar Trophy Rugby encounter at the CR&FC ground in Longdon Place today (19).
The match is scheduled to kick off at 4.30pm.
Isipathana lead the tally with 43 wins out of 45 encounters played so far while Thurstan had won it once, in 2005.
The only tie had occurred in 1975 while the encounter was not held in 1972, 2010 and 2013.
This year Isipathana is led by centre Kushan Indunil while Thurstan is captained by Thisum Palihawadana.
The encounter for the Abdul Jabbar Trophy was inaugurated in 1967.
Last year under Omalka Gunaratna's captaincy Isipathana thrashed Thurstan by 105-0, the highest team score ever by any team in this encounter.
