Volleyball: Dammissara into the U-16 and U-18 finals of DSI Super Sports Tournament

Dammissara MMV of Nattandiya had qualified to play in the Boys Under-16 and Under-18 finals of the 16th DSI Super Sports Volleyball Tournament conducted by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation and Sri Lanka Schools Volleyball Association. 

This is the first time in this tournament that two schools qualified to play in three finals and in the Under-16 finals Dammissara meet St. Xavier's, Marawila while in the Under-18 finals the lads from Nattandiya meet Joseph Vaz MMV, Wennappuwa. 

The Under-14 finals is to played between Ruwanwella Rajasinghe MMV and St. Xavier's MV, Marawila. 

A total number of over 3000 teams took part in the tournament this year where at the inaugural tournament in 1999 only 198 teams participated. 

In the Girls section national level final round commenced on Saturday (25) and will be continued on Sunday (26) at the National Youth Service Council (NYSC) Indoor Stadium in Maharagama. 

Final matches of both categories will be held on July 14 to 15 at the same venue.

Boys semi-final round: St. Xavier's Marawila MV beat Siyambalagoda Negenahira MV 2-0 (25/17, 25/13); Rajasinghe MMV Ruwanwella beat Nattandiya Dammissara MMV 2-0 (25/22, 25/16) 

Under-16 semi-final round: Nattandiya Dammissara MMV beat Maris Stella College, Negombo 3-0 (25/15, 25/18, 25/20); St. Xavier's MV Marawila beat Davisamara MV Seeduwa 3-0 (25/10, 25/14, 25/17) 

Under-18 semi-final round: Dammissara MMV beat Davisamara MMV 3-0 (25/17, 28/26, 25/18); Joseph Vaz MV beat Ruwanwella Rajasinghe MMV 3-1 (25/14, 11/25, 19/25, 17/25) 

3rd Place Under-16: Davisamara Beat Maris Stella, Negombo 2-0 (25/19, 25/19) 

Under-18: Ruwanwella Rajasinghe MMV beat Davisamara MMV, Seeduwa 2-0 (25/19, 25/23) 

Under-14: Siyambalagoda Negenahira MV will meet Dammissara MMV
