Prosperous Capital SC of Colombo and Omega Line SC Sandalankawa emerged Division I champions at the Mercantile Volleyball Tournament’s men’s and women’s finals at the Maharagama NYSC indoor courts on Saturday (16).
In the 'A' Division final Prosperous Capital SC overcame Brandix Lingerie Limited, Nittambuwa 3-0.
The scores were 25-21, 25-18 and 25-15.
The 'A' Division women’s final was annexed by Omega Line SC Sandalankawa defeating MAS Active Stretch Line, Biyagama by three sets to nil.
The final scores were 25-11, 25-17 and 25-17.
Four other finals are scheduled to be played at the same venue on Sunday (17).
They are the Men's and Women's Championships and the Super League Men's and Women's Championships.
The Championships Women’s Final between Omega Line vs Brandix Fast Fashions at Avissawella will be played commencing at 8.00am.
At 10.00am will be the Championships Men’s Final between Crystal Martin SC Katunayake and David Pieris Motor Company.
The Super League Women’s Final will be worked off at 1.00pm between MAS SC Mawathagama and Brandix Fast Fashion, Mirigama.
At 3.00pm will be the Super League Men's Final between Textured Jersey Lanka vs MAS Active Leasureline, Katunayake.
The tournament is being conducted by the Mercantile Volleyball Association of Sri Lanka.
Over 100 teams took part from the Mercantile sector in three categories.
The winning teams will receive cash awards of Rs. 1.5 million.
The Super League Men’s Best Player will receive a motorcycle.
The women’s Best Player will be in line for a Scooty.
