Sri Lanka Waterpolo team emerged runners-up to win the Silver Medal at the Asia Pacific Waterpolo Tournament, which was held in Hong Kong.
In the final the Sri Lankans played well but fell short by inches to eventual winners Hong Kong.
The 18th Asia Pacific Waterpolo Tournament was held from August 18 to 21 at the Kowloon Aquatic Center in Hong Kong.
Hosts Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, Guam, Indonesia and Sri Lanka competed in this tournament.
In the semi-finals they beat Japan 8-6 before losing to Hong Kong by 8-9 in the final.
In the first round games Sri Lanka lost to Hong Kong 2-12 but they managed to beat Singapore 6-5, Indonesia 11-6 and Hong Kong on the second day 8-7.
