Hamlet at Elsie’s Bar is now on at the Lionel Wendt. It’s a musical comedy depicting Shakespeare as a struggling playwright with writer’s block, who whiles his time away at his favourite drinking hole.
Written by American scriptwriters, Fazer Haesh and Mark Eaden, the play by Stagelight & Magic Inc is being directed by Feroze Kamardeen and produced by Sirraj Abdul Hameed.
It will not be staged tomorrow or the day after but will recommence on Wednesday, February 25 and go on till March 1 from 7.30pm – 9pm.
The show’s main sponsor is Dialog TV, along with Firefly designing the sets, while Video Image is their Video partner and Halien Production House, the production partner. Leo Burnett is their official agency. E FM is the official electronic media sponsor while the Daily Mirror and The Sunday Times are the print media sponsors.
Tickets will be priced between Rs.1000 and 250. On Friday, February 27, Saturdays and Sundays, tickets will go for 1000, 900, 850, 500 and 300 for the balcony. On Wednesday and Thursday tickets will be priced at 850/-, 750/-, 650/-, 400/- and 250/- for the balcony |
