The ex-employees of Sri Lanka's first five star hotel, Pegasus Reef Hotel had their very first meeting and get together at the hotel premises recently.
This re union fellowship of the original batch of the employees was organized by Chef S. Ratnapala of Heritance Kandalama, Seneviratne Banda of chief Chef at ‘Raja Bojun’, Kandy and Emil Liyanage , Manager Green Tour and Resorts Limited.
There were nearly sixty old employees attending the inaugural re-union meeting.
According to Anslem Arseculeratne, senior lecturer of Asian International Hotel School, who is a coordinator in the event, all the employees gathered at the meeting joined as trainees or helpers during the initial stage at the Pegasus Reef and now hold top positions in the tourism and travel industry.
'Everybody, who is holding senior managerial posts at present, started their career at the basic grass root level. So we are very proud of what we gained during the three decades of period and the training what we get from the Pegasus Reef' he added.
