MOTHER'S TOUCH
Mrs. Geetha Kaduwela - is the Chairperson at Mother's Touch - International Vocational Academy, in Sri Lanka. She is an Educationist and a Consultant, in Child/Elder Care Management, Early Childhood Development and Education. She qualified in Sydney, Australia, and opened up her own Daycare Center in Sydney with the Australian Business Registration (ABN).
Geetha has fulfilled her ambition to introduce the Daycare concept into the Sri Lankan busy lifestyle, on her return home, by opening up her own model Daycare Centre, in Nawala, namely "MOTHER'S TOUCH". Being a mother of five children, Geetha strongly believes that children's care is of paramount importance and has a great desire to serve the young generations of her mother country. She also managed to get her two elder daughters to join up with Mother's Touch after completion of their foreign higher studies. Gayathri the eldest, returned from USA armed with a nursing qualification and the Californian License for Nursing and Rashmi the second, with a Degree on Sociology from the University of London. Now they work as a family team for the betterment of Mother's Touch Academy, as well as our dear children and senior citizens of Sri Lanka.
Mother's Touch Family Daycare Centre expanded into an Academy and is presently registered as "Mother's Touch" International Vocational Training Academy, at No. 6, Walter Gunasekera Mawatha, Nawala, Sri Lanka Tel 011 2805047. The Academy offers Diploma courses, which are registered with the Tertiary & Vocational Education Commission in Sri Lanka (TVEC) and with City & Guilds U.K. and is recognized internationally. From time to time Geetha upgrades her NVQ courses with new developments and additions, in order to be abreast with international standards.
Geetha is ably assisted by two senior lecturers, Mrs. Janaki Fernando in NVQ and Mrs. Yamini de Costa, in IVQ. Mother's Touch is affiliated with many Preschools and Montessori schools, around the country, where her students undergo practical training and secure employment nationally and internationally. The Academy has a model Day Care and After School Care facility which provide practical training for her students in children's services.
Geetha is a member of the National Family Day Care Council of Australia, and Mother's Touch possesses the Center License for City & Guilds, UK for the first time in Sri Lanka for children's services. Presently they conduct lectures for "Level 2 in Children's Care Learning and Development", leading to the U.K. Degree programme with a worldwide recognized UK certificate.
