The Gospel musical "Lift Up Your Eyes", will be presented by the Choir of St. Francis of Assisi, Mount Lavinia on Sunday, September 13 at 6 p.m. at the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, 80, Hotel Road, Mount Lavinia and on Saturday, September 26 at 5.30 p.m. at the Trinity Chapel, Trinity College, Kandy.
The theme of Psalm 121 in the Bible which begins, "I will lift up mine eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord' is threaded throughout this powerful musical of promise and hope.
Several much-loved hymns "It Is Well with My Soul", "The steadfast Love of the Lord", "Forever", "Days of Elijah", "Guide me O Thou great Jehovah", "Angel of the Lord", "Awesome God" etc are included in the musical. The musical will culminate with the Hymn for Sri Lanka "Jehovah Thou hast Promised" and that other great hymn that has crossed generational, denominational, and international boundaries - "How Great Thou Art". |
