The view from Cinnamon Lakeside’s patio by the Beira Lake is best enjoyed after sunset. Then the breeze is strong, the dark waters ripple and the little candles placed on each table flame and flicker. A welcoming ambience, emphasis on great service and mouth-watering Mediterranean cuisine are all hallmarks of the hotel’s newest restaurant 70 North. For those addicted to air-conditioning, a new bar, helmed by Daniel Alexander, adjoins the patio.
The restaurant and bar are only two of several new features, and join the new spa and the comfortable lobby lounge on a list of the hotel’s big attractions. The rest of the premises have been given an overhaul too, with generally pleasing results. Long time fans of The Library, the members-only club, will be pleased to discover their dance floor is larger, while guests at Long Feng can now enjoy the retreat afforded by the Singaporean restaurant’s new private dining room.
After 3 ½ months of intense labour and over 500 million rupees in expenditure, the new team opened the hotel’s doors with a reception last week.
The lobby now has an airy, light feel and the area around the pool has been de-cluttered, allowing guests a real sense of being in the centre of a vibrant city, even as they relax in their own little oasis of calm.
The rooms have been refurbished as well to make the most of the beautiful view out over the lake. Even the staff have had a makeover, and are now to be found sporting new uniforms by Taru.
With the switch from Trans Asia to Cinnamon Lakeside, the team also embraces the latter’s tagline, ‘how may we indulge you?’ and are committed to creating a truly luxurious experience for their guests.
All in all, the sprawling seven-acre property aims to become one of the jewels in the crown of the Cinnamon brand. |
