An IT exhibition to be held in Jaffna at the end of next month will attempt to "develop ICT and entrepreneurial skills among northern youth including ex-LTTE combatants" through ICT career guidance and lectures regarding ICT usage in the SME (small and medium enterprise) sector, according to a statement by event organiser, the Federation of Information Technology Sri Lanka (FITIS).
Also the organiser of "INFOTEL", said to be one of the country's largest recurring bi-annual IT exhibitions which attracted 25,000 visitors in 2008, FITIS recently announced that it would be holding a three-day "Mini Infotel" at the Wembady Girls’ High School in Jaffna from February 26 onwards, an event it claims will be the "largest exhibition to be held in the Jaffna peninsula after 30 years". This follows similar "Mini Infotel" events held in Kurunegala in September 2009 and Tangalle in December 2009. (JH) |
