Sri Lankan Treasury Secretary Dr P.B. Jayasundera is among a group of top economists and officials from multilateral agencies who would discuss the post-global crisis situation in Asia at a one-day conference in Hanoi, Vietnam tomorrow.
Jointly organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the State (Central) Bank of Vietnam, the conference titled ‘Post-Crisis Growth and Poverty Reduction in Developing Asia’ will discuss the Asia recovery from the global crisis and how best to raise growth and reduce poverty.
Dr Jayasundera is a panelist in a session that would discuss the post-crisis environment and policies that are critical for enhancing growth and reducing poverty, to be moderated by John Lipsky, the IMF’s First Deputy Managing Director.
Among the participants are C. Lawrence Greenwood, Jr., Vice President -Asian Development Bank, Hiroshi Watanabe, President - Japan Bank for International Cooperation and James W. Adams, East Asia and Pacific Vice President - World Bank. |
