Sri Lanka has to work harder to attract Japanese companies and tourists than in previous years, even with the country's newly acquired peace, because there is greater competition between many more countries than in the past, according to Kunio Takahashi, Japan's Ambassador to Sri Lanka.
As such, Sri Lanka will have to be more creative than others in attracting Japanese tourists and investments or lose its current potential to do so as this potential may not exist forever.
Mr. Takahashi's remarks were made at the inauguration of the University of Colombo's 2009/2010 batch of the Master of Arts (MA) degree in Financial Economics this week in Colombo. |
