The Ceylon National Chamber of Industries (CNCI) recently launched its 9th CNCI Achiever Awards for 2010 which rewards and encourages Sri Lankan industrial and manufacturing institutions for their contribution to the economy.
A press release from the CNCI stated that the awards are given not only to Sri Lankan industrialists but for the Sri Lankan entrepreneurs who excel in the SAARC countries as well.
All Sri Lankan industrialists who are involved in industrial and manufacturing operations in India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and the Maldives are eligible to enter.
This year the CNCI said it believes that a large number of micro and small sector applicants will participate from the Northern and Eastern provinces. Since the newly gained freedom and peaceful environment prevailing in the North and East, many micro and small sector enterprises have expressed their desire to apply for the awards.
According to the press release, achievers awards are selected by an eminent panel of judges comprising of qualified experts and consultants representing management, marketing, finance, banking, engineering, industrial, quality standards, environmental, labour and consumer affairs.
Applications in Sinhala and English are currently available at the CNCI Secretariat and the Tamil language applications also will be available in due course. |
