Following ‘Robot’, the Hindi version of South Indian box office hit starring Rajinikanth which is now being screened, the latest Bollywood movie ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ is to be released from October 15 at the Majestic Cinema, Colombo.
“Endhiran” (Robot), Indian cinema’s most expensive movie starring Rajinikanth and former Miss World Aishwarya Rai which had a box office opening in India is now successfully running at the Majestic.
The 60-year-old superstar Rajinikanth plays a double role, of a scientist and an android, which he has created.
Produced by Kalanidhi Maran and Hansraj Saxena, it is known for being the most expensive film in Asia ever made, officially budgeted at Indian rupee162 crores. Upon release, it also made the largest worldwide opening for a Tamil film. The film’s background score and soundtrack was composed by Oscar awarded A. R. Rahman, The film’s story revolves around a scientist’s struggle to control his creation, an humanoid robot whose processor was upgraded to give it the ability to comprehend and generate human emotions, from further sociological mishaps. The robot falls in love with a beautiful woman who also happens to be the love interest of the scientist, which creates a conflict between the two.
The Robot’ will be followed by director Siddharth Anand’s film ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the lead.
‘Anjaana Anjaani’ is the story of Kiara (Priyanka Chopra), based in San Francisco, while Akash (Ranbir Kapoor) is a New York City boy. Akash has got to clear a huge loan of $12 Million dollars. Suicide seems the only option to him. He decides to jump off the George Washington Bridge. It is when he bumps into Kiara; who is also bound to commit suicide. They try to put an end to their lives but they detered by the coastguards. Then Akash deliberately gets hit by a car and Kiara falls on the bridge and breaks her neck. However they are hospitalised and the both get to know each other. They both try to kill themselves five times, try asphyxiating each other, but it doesn’t happen anytime.
They decide to end their lives on 31st December. With 20 days to go, they decide to fulfill their unfinished wishes and thus begins their journey. The both do stuff like swimming in the middle of Atlantic Ocean, Partying etc. They venture out to Las Vegas on a holiday. That is when they realise that they love each other but none of them confesses. |
