Upeka, Sri Lanka’s internationally acclaimed danseuse and daughter of the legendary Chitrasena and Vajira takes centre stage on Prime TV’s “CELEB CHAT” and shares with you her life and work in dance.
Recalling her childhood days at Colombo’s one-time landmark – the Chitrasena Kalayathanaya at Galle Road Road Kollupitiya – she talks about her initiation into dance and the infinite challenges that lay ahead.
Upeka pays tribute to her parents and several others who’ve contributed to her illustrious career as a dancer.
She shares her relief that the next generation - nieces Heshma, Thaji and Umi – are gradually taking over the mantle and leading the Chitrasena Kalayathanaya into the future.
