Hotel Reefcomber said on Thursday that it has purchased a 7.2 acre beach property at Waskaduwa, Kalutara for Rs 221.7 million.
Formerly owned by Falcon Hotels Pvt Ltd, the Reefcomber says it wants to turn the site into a 150-room, 4-star property with construction starting in mid January 2011.
The company said this is the first initiative in the strategic acquisitions under the new owners of Reefcomber which was earlier owned by businessman Dhammika Perera and is now held by a group led by Triad Advertising founders Dilith Jayaweera and Varuni Amunugama, and ABC Radio chief Raynor Silva. Tourism veteran Prema Cooray is the chairman of the company. |
