Plus - Appreciation

The longest two years

Raja De Silva Amarasekera

Two long years have gone by since you left me
No two years have been this long
You always hated to leave me alone

But that last day, even that last moment
You had no idea you were leaving me forever alone
Leaving me with only the memories of those 52 short years
And the two daughters you gave me.

You who were a true Buddhist and could not have gone any other way
The way you went does not ease the pain,
But it is a consolation that you suffered no pain
And even had no idea you were going

They say time heals pain,
No, with time you learn to live with pain
The heart dead you go through days like a zombie
Will we ever meet through the journey of Sansara?
May you attain Nibbana.

Your ever loving wife
