Sri Lankan diversified conglomerate Hayleys recently announced a partnership with Escorts India to locally market the Indian company's Farmtrac four-wheel utility tractors.
Initially, two Farmtrac models would be available locally. Each will also carry a three-year warranty, which Hayleys suggests will be a first in terms of length of warranty offered domestically. he local company also indicates it would "facilitate purchase by working with reputed leasing institutions to help farmers."
Meanwhile, commenting on the Hayley's new association with Escorts India, which is said to be "Asia’s largest manufacturing facility at a single location" as well as "a manufacturing capacity that is expandable to 100,000 machines a year"; the local company's Chairman Mohan Pandithage suggested the "strengths of the Escorts Group, particularly in engineering are well known... Hayleys will add substantial value to the partnership through its experience and wide engagement in the agriculture sector of Sri Lanka." |
