The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CB) and the Department of Labour are re-registering all EPF members under a new, joint project where members will be assigned their National Identity Card (NIC) number as the unique identification number in the EPF system.
“With the implementation of the re-registration process, the member contributions and the interest earned and distributed among members from Fund’s investments would be recorded under the unique identification number throughout the employment life cycle,” the CB said in a statement.
The main objective of this project is to provide an efficient and cost effective service to its members by reducing the time taken to process their refund applications and requests for balance certificates, by improved processing efficiency and through a more systematically maintained data base, it said.
Under the the project, a new member registration form named “Form RR6” has been introduced to register all new recruits on real time basis with effect from 1st November 2010. |
