Heraymila Group, a Dubai-based investment entity owned by the Al Mashal family, will be treating its Sri Lankan investment, Heraymila Securities as a springboard to South Asia and China, according to officials.
“Our share broking house, Heraymila Securities Ltd (HSL) will be a launch pad into similar investments into places such as India, Bangladesh and countries in South Asia as well as China,” Heraymila Investments managing director Vinod Krishan told the Business Times on the sidelines of a media briefing to launch the company.
He said that HSL will assist Heraymila to keep their ears close to the ground. “HSL will help us to decide and search for major investment opportunities in healthcare, power and infrastructure development in Sri Lankan market with other co-investors from the Middle East,” he added.
When asked why an investment group such as Heraymila has not considered investing in such projects on its own, Mr. Krishnan noted that Heraymila has a maximum country allocation (per country) which is why it cannot shoulder the entire projects. |
