The Plantation Human Development Trust (PHDT) engaged in continuously improving the quality of life in Sri Lankan plantations was the recipient of the award for 3rd position by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for the best presented Accouts 2010.

This prestigious Award was conferred on the PHDT on the basis of evaluation administered by SAFA’s Committee for Improvement in Transparency, Accountability and Governance, from the published Annual Reports of entries, received from South Asian countries.
“This milestone symbolized financial reporting excellence and offered a distinct opportunity for the organization to be on par with the best competitors from a list of corporates in the South Asia thus, bringing honour to our motherland,” the state agency said in a press release. The awards Ceremony was held on December 12 in Kathmandu, Nepal with Surendra Pandey, Minister of Finance, Government of Nepal as the Chief Guest.
The organization’s quest for reporting excellence was also endorsed by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) for the second successive occasion by conferring the ‘Silver Award’ on the PHDT superseding the last year’s ‘Bronze Award’ for its Annual Report 2009, at the Annual Report Competition recently in Colombo |
