Diesel Defender wins again at Cavalry Supercross

The 'racing' Land Rover Defender of Frontier Automotive won the event for diesel off-roaders at the Cavalry Supercross organized by the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps and the Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR), its third victory in less than two months.

The ‘racing’ Land Rover Diesel Defender

Modified and prepared for racing by Frontier Automotive, the sole agents for Land Rover in Sri Lanka, the racing Defender was driven by Sheran Fernando. Besides its victory in the diesel vehicles category, the racing Defender came third in the Open Event for trucks and jeeps, beating many high-powered petrol engine vehicles.

The racing Defender was built in association with Twisted Performance, UK. In April this year, the racing Defender won the events for Diesel Trucks & Jeeps up to 5500 cc turbo category, and Jeeps & Trucks Open class, at the Foxhill Supercross at Diyathalawa.

Since Frontier Automotive started competing at local gravel track racing events, this genre of the sport has developed significantly. At the Cavalry Supercross, the Truck and Jeep event was the largest event for the day, and was also one of the most hotly contested.
