Trinity College Kandy are going great guns in the ongoing Under 19 inter-school cricket season and again they will be the team to be watched this season. Apart from that there were five other outright wins from the matches that were played during the week ending Friday. Richmond humbled the strong Royal Colombo side by nine wickets while S. Thomas' Mt Lavinia recorded their second outright when they defeated Thurstan by nine wickets. St Benedict's, Raddoluwa MV and St Sylvester's Kandy recorded their first outright wins against St Anne's Kurunegala, Kegalu MV and St Anthony's Wattala. The matches between Lumbini MV vs Mahanama, St Joseph's vs DSS, De Mazenod vs Nalanda and Ibbagamuwa Central vs Sri Sumangala Kandy and Rahula Matara vs Maliyadeva Kurunegala all ended in draws.

The best of the outright win was the nine wicket win by Richmond against Royal. It was a historic win for the Richmondites who are gaining an outright win over Royal for the first time since the two schools started confronting each other in 1912.

It was a pathetic batting display by Royal who were shot out for just 27 runs which took them 29.1 overs to score. The match was evenly poised when the two teams had made the identical scores of 212. But a superb bowling effort by Richmond's right arm pacie Damith Lakmihiran changed the game in their favour.

Trinity coasted to their third innings victory when they crushed Isipathana by an innings and 85 runs. The heroes of Trinity were Janishka Premasinghe and Sri Lanka youth player Akila Jayasundara who combined together to bundle out the Isipathanians for the identical of 44 in both the innings with Trinity making 173 for 8 declared. Allrounder Chamod Pathirana was the hero of the Thomians nine wicket victory over Thurstan as his knock of 78 laid the foundation for the win and later he grabbed six wickets to bowl out Thurstan for 119.

Thurstan managed to avoid an innings defeat but the target of 63 runs they set for the Thomians was insufficient for them to prevent from being defeated. An unbeaten knock of 139 by Arjuna Perera and a five wicket haul by Jason Perera laid the foundation for an easy St Benedict's win. Arjuna's knock helped the Bens make a formidable 301 for 8 declared while Jason's fifer sent the Annites reeling to 47 and made to follow on they fared better but the Bens cruised through to a comfortable innings and 147 runs.
Raddoluwa MV which was a side to be reckoned with in the past but was forced to give up cricket due to lack of facilities are making a comeback.

The side which played in the top division a few years back have to begin again from the lower division. The innings and 14 runs win over St Anthony's Wattala is going to boost them further. They made a formidable score of 348 for 8 declared thanks to a knock of 114 by Sumudu Asanka. Then they restricted the Antonians to a score of 210 and made them follow-on and succeeded to bowl them out for 134. The other outright win came in the hill capital where St Sylvester's defeated Kegalu MV by eight wickets.
