NCC –SSC to play for the J R Jayawardene Trophy today

Traditional Club rivals Nondescripts Cricket Club and Sinhalese Sports Club will battle it out for the J R Jayawardenene Memorial Trophy when they meet today in the curtain raiser of the Premier Limited Over Cricket tournament at the NCC grounds.

The J R Jayawardene Memorial Trophy was innauguarated in 1998 and has seen eleven counters played and both clubs have won five each with one game ending in a no decision.The encounter was not played last year and in 2001.NCC last won in 2009 while SSC recorded their last win in 2007.
NCC will be led by Upul Tharanga and SSC by wicket keeper batsman Kaushal Silva.
